Areas in Northwestern Syria and Southern Turkey experienced the strongest relationship of droughts negatively affecting the economy. This report offers a new perspective on climate change affecting migration, through the lens of multiple variables. These variables are wheat production rates, unemployment rates, and net migration rates. When drought threatens wheat production and water supply, unemployment and strain on public resources increases, leaving little opportunities for residents to cope.
